The reason for this is to help new comer to aquaponics to start in a simplest possible way and  at the same time giving visual encouragement to those starting up.

I am starting to use this apps again after a long pause. Had to use it since its the only way for me to blog more frequent. PC is rarely use anymore except for work and video editing that can't be done on the phone.

Trying to figure out how to do youtube video embed like with PC but so far it turn out not as I like.
So these next few days or weeks my blog post with video gonna be a mess.

Not Posting For A long Time

To All that has been following me on either this blog, tweeter, facebook or recently Instagram. I have not been posting any thing lately due to the heavy workload I am facing at this moment.

I will be posting again after this nightmare is over and once situation under control.

My Aquaponics set are running well, I now only have one #gutterbed set at the back lane. Most of my experimenting with Aquaponics is over ever since I manage to get the #gutterbed to work.

I am starting to do more and more plant testing and getting the best from the #gutterbed set.

I will also be making less or not at all posting on Facebook, because they are too intrusive in my opinion. I am more incline towards Instagram at this current time as affnan_aquaponics.

Thank you for your understanding.

Titbits July 19 2015

Transferred few Lampam to the front gutter growbed, since the Pacu fish is very elusive in nature and didn't eat much.

Tomatoes grown larger and need to be supported, do simple staking and train for fan out from the growbed.

Vegan Day Today.. :)

Cut most of the greens and what better to do that... gave it to the fish to eat. Too mush for my use so lets not waste anything.
By tomorrow those fishes will strip the branches clean of leaves.
Other that fish feed, expired bread, yesterday's rice and kitchen scraps.. fresh greens is good as supplement to give the fishes.

What Happening Today.. ?

Apart from doing the racking.. as earlier post : Here

Few seedling needs transplant and rear growbed redo to after few weeks of neglect.
Eggplants above don't look healthy, these need urgent attention !! Transplant three of them into individual hydroton pots and place it in the growbed where the Sambung Nyawa are located.
Will see if they recover into healthy plants in a couple of weeks.
After the eggplants, Tomatoes that I transplant last week still has few more of same batch and just re-pot a few and the rest has to be wasted due to overcrowded.
Nothing interesting, just a normal day at the Aquaponics.

Back lane CRAFTS set updates 11th Oct 2014

Not doing much these last few months on the back lane set, finally after festive season temporarily over I am tiding it up for more planting.
The Garlic Chives that I redo from front to make way for the Strawberry doing great and I got twelve pots in this growbed with few more in another growbed. This is more that I need, two pots is all that is required and I may reduce to only six pots for my own use.
Three Basil pots I redo into two using the slotted orchid pot, one I transfer another start new from cutting.
More Basil than I can handle, Tilapia will eat this.
Turmeric are very slow to shot, I'll change to slotted pots once they have sufficient root growth holding the LECA.
Above potted flood & drain will be redo to have more plants in it.
I must get more plants going to use up all the nitrate, tilapia are getting bigger and they produce more waste now as compare few months back.
Few seedlings growing and I must sow more, heavy rain causes damage to seedling and some seeds just don't germinate. Need to change the way I sow those seeds.
Three pots of Sambung Nyawa plants taken out from the growbed and giving it away.

Sponge Bob Square Pants

Received few sponge and net pots yesterday from Thailand ordered from ebay and good time to sow few more seeds.
Use this sponge with precut holes ready to accept seeds. I do egg plants one in each sponge and strawberry, few seeds in each of the sponge.
Strawberry seeds above was kept in the freezer for two weeks and I took out a few to sow.
To try out, those strawberry seeds I use sponge with net pot and for egg plant only sponge. Both I place in the new ornamental set that I'm testing. No nutrient yet in the system. I place one starter fish and dissolve few table spoon of organic chicken manure to get system going. We'll see how's this sponge do and whether the strawberry seeds can germinate.
